I don't think anyone knows but, I hope the project doesn't die. It's a pretty useful tool.

Maybe they are not talking about an actual person but 'Quizo' the online persona. 'Quizo' himself saying in news I'm almost off now, on the bed etc… he may mean he is taking a break from the project and 'Quizo'.
This may sound like BS but it would appear the creator is Japanese and they sometimes express themselves differently there. For example if someone was actually dying they would hardly use a sticking out tongue smiley… or would they?
If the author has left the project I wish they'd open source the project. It would be a real shame for such an awesome app to be left unattended and end up abandonware. For me QTTabBar is a better upgrade for XP than the whole of Vista so I'm a little disappointed at the prospect of no more future updates. :(

for sure qttabbar on xp is awesome!!.. beats the living out of that vista pile of shite. MS people working on the UI/UX and vista stinking shite explorer etc …shoud be tortured with music from some pop group for hours, would serve them right for there piss poor noob efforts.
but anyway we really need to find out whats happened with Quizo? maybe wikidot.com could send him an email seeing as we have no other way of contacting him
Quizo was contracted by Microsoft. Those who are developers know, once you are working for a company like MS, all personal projects must be halted to prevent conflicts of interest.
How do you know this?

Windows Explorer vs. Norton Commander has been a holy war raging since ages amongst my friends and although NC was always superior, i preferred Explorer's object oriented approach instead of the file/directory focus of NC. ie integration and access to object settings such as network, MP3 players, Camera's etc…
Although Vista added new features to Explorer that took some time to appreciate but i can no longer live without, like the breadcrum tracker, arrows and specially checkbox selection, i always missed tabs and never understood why the toolbar customization was removed.
This tool however plugs all the holes and provides extensive customisation. As far as i'm concerned i'm glad MS contracted him, as they might learn something. Unfortunatly excellent developers that have extended the GUI with their own tools get absorbed into MS and are never leveraged for the skills they get headhunted for in the first place.

I'll believe that when I see a windows ui/ux that doesn't look and work like shit.. and from what i've seen of Win7.. its looking to be nothing more than the same vista shit.

exactly, lets hope Quizo isn't surrounded with too many idiots dumbing down his potential.
Probably, Quizo is a japonese student who has been studying .NET in depth, and he has made a good project like qttabbar, he has finished it and he has passed to another thing. It's a father who leaves his son to have another son. So beautiful!!!
