New explorer window instead of a new tab

Just installed a 1.2.2.1 version.
From some reason a new windows explorer opens a new window instead of a new tab in the existing window.
I suppose that it should be some configuration, but failed to find it.

Can you help?

yeah having this problem too on my xp sp3 machine.
can't find hoe to get it right.
