Hi,
is there any possibilty to remove the toolbar in the Windows Explorer of Vista (the one with the blue background, see screenshot)?
I've absolutely no use for it since you can't personalize it.

Actually, although you may not be aware of this item in Vista, you do indeed have a great need for this toolbar. It is context dynamic! Different Folder Templates place appropriately different buttons on it.
Open the properties sheet for a given folder in Vista, go to the customize tab and in the first section check out the various options.
Example: sometime the Contacts Folder looses the buttons appropriate to managing the Contact files for Windows Mail. They can be restored by resetting the folder template to "Contacts".
Good luck!
Yes, it is dynamic. But it is NOT customizable :( ! I didn't use it yet and QTTabBar gives an alternative so that there is no need for this toolbar (as it was before ^^ ). But it seems that it is not possible to remove it.
Thank you for your comment.
but you can auto hide it

Thank you very much. This would be perfect but it doesn't work :( . Maybe it's because of SP1; I dunno…
Ok…now it works. Thank you very much!!!
I'm glad you're happy with that alternative to auto hide the toolbar. Myself, I will not be happy until I find out how to get rid of it forever! (I won't keep changing every theme I might use…)
If anyone has a registry hack or something, please let me know!
i wish there were some program that would automatically hack the current shellstyle for you, instead of having to manually edit each one…
