More control using F2 to rename?

As a Vista user, I miss the old F2 where it would highlight everything, including the extension. Currently I have to press F2 four times to do this. I'd like more control over what the F2 button does with each press; personally I'd use the old XP F2 function with one press of the F2 key, the standard Vista F2 function (which only highlights the name and not the extension) with two presses, and so on.
