When i run windows explorer first time with QTTabBar enabled i got ~5 sec to wait while the window appears in opposite to instant open without QTTabbar.
XpSp2, P4-3.0/1Gb, and my system isn't overloaded by many other apps @ startup.
Is it possible to fix that problem?

Looking to taskmanager i see that it loads some additional components into RAM. Maybe (if its not QTTabBar or my system's fault) it would be nice to make some kind of preload after user's logon?

I have the same problem and it's definitely not a matter of too less RAM: I have 3 GB installed. The initial startup of the windows explorer takes about almost infinite 5-8 seconds. I hope someone will find a solution!

When you see the processes executed while opening the explorer, you can see some such as QTAddressBar.dll, etc. I guess it takes long for those to load.

I face the very same problem. Win XP Prof, SP2, Centrino 1.7 GHz, 1GB RAM.

Getting a solution would be really appreciated!

Beyond this QTTabBar is a great tool!

Me too facing the same problem. Mine one take 30sec to wait and make me mad. I think this is the major bug that should be fix. No matter how great the software are, speed is no.1! No one like to wait.

The reason is cause it's programmed in .NET so it will always be slow.
The project would have to be rewritten in pure native C++ to solve this problem.
