Hi,

I'm having some kind of trouble with this option. Since I upgraded, it seems that I can't uncheck this option, the checkbox is grayed out and I can't modify it. I'd like to know if this is an intended behaviour, or if I did something wrong or if my settings don't allow me to change this.

Probably because you're using Windows "Classic" theme.

I have the same problem, and was using the Royale theme. Changing to the standard XP theme did not help though…

i had the same problem and was very aggravated

funny thing is, when i started explorer from the start-menu "My Computer" link, it worked fine.

this only worked bad if i ran explorer from the desktop "My Computer" shortcut.

anyways - removing Windows Search 4.0 solved the problem.
