Hi,

I read some very good reviews about your QTTabBar program, and it looks very useful. So I downloaded it (the last stable release, not the beta) from your website and installed it, but I cannot get it to work.

The install process runs through fine, tells me the program has installed successfully, I should log off to enable QT Tab Bar.

I reboot, open a folder like the install help tells me to, right click on toolbar…and there's nothing there which says "QT Tab Bar" or "QT Tab Standard Buttons" to place a check on. It's just the standard menu.

'View' - 'Toolbars' doesn't show any QT-anything either.

I have both .NETframework 2.0 and 3.0 installed, and I have administrator status on my laptop.

I've tried everything I could think of…would appreciate any help.

I have the same issue. Program installs okay but, even after rebooting, QT Tabbar is not visible in the View->Toolbars menu. Strangely though, I do have a "QT Tab Desktop Tool" option when I right click on the taskbar, and some QT Tabbar functionality on my Dekstop. I have XP SP2 and .NET framework 2.0 and 3.0 as well.

Strange… I've installed QT Tab Bar many times but never had .NET 3.0. You could have corrupted registry entries concerning your .NET install. Try repairing/removing it and re-installing .NET 2.0 to start. If you get errors, then something is definitely wrong. Luckily, there's an excellent tool for cleaning .NET from your machine. When/if you run it, be patient as there are some moments when it seems to be doing nothing, but it will soon finish the job.

Sorry I can't be of more help. Maybe Quizo has a better idea.

first, any .Net 1.0/1.1 shell extensions are not installed?
if so, QTTabBar will fail.

if not, make sure 3 objects are in "C:\windows\assemly",
"QTTabBar", "QTPluginLib", and "Interop.SHDocVw".

and see entries in "Internet Options" of IE, -> "Programs" -> "Manage Add-ons…".
if 2 entries are there - "QT TabBar" and "QT standard buttons", make sure that they are "Enabled".
if not there, registry values are not properly written.

— Checked; All 3 objects are in that directory.

— Checked; Both entries are there, both enabled.

Still don't see any "QT Tab Bar" or "QT Tab Standard Buttons" on right click. However, I also have a "QT Tab Desktop Tool" option when I right click on the taskbar (like the second poster above); but that's it.

Any issue with having run Spywareblaster on my system? Would that create a problem?

Installation seems to be successful…
then please see this option is checked.

Internet Options -> Advanced -> Browsing -> "Enable third-party browser extensions"

FINALLY — Thank you!! So that's what was causing all the problem.

All systems going now, QTTabBar shows up fine.
