I knew quizo IRL and I inform you quizo died in a car accident about 9 months ago, so his poducts wont be updated anymore.
I don't know about the website but i guess the host should deactivate it in the upcoming months.

Did he die in a car accident the year before too? Remember, he left this project without updating for ~10 months the year before. It wouldn't surprise me if he had some kind of illness though. He did mention before that he was going to be "away for a while, on the bed", which I read as being sick in some way. We shall see.
This really doesn't make any sense. If this were true, I would have expected a similar thread in the Japanese forum, since Quizo is Japanese after all. It has been almost a week, but such a thread has yet to exist in that forum. Sure, the English forum is more active, but wouldn't it make more sense if those of his native tongue were among the first to know? This sounds really fishy and I'm not buying any of it without concrete proof.

Sorry to hear about Quizo and that his helpful software will no longer be developed. I gave up on ever hoping QTTabBar would ever be updated but at least the end users know the reason. RIP.

"version 1.3.0.1 (2009-2-2)" is the 2nd of february 2009, we are presently the 5th of february 2010 and 9 months earlier (when quizo had his accident) we were the 5th of may 2009, so quizo died 3 months after the release you are talking about.
I can't belive, I didn't meet him in real life but it really sucks.

initially i taught it wasn't true that Quizo was dead but something inside me tells me there must be some truth to it. I have never seen a project abandoned in such a bizarre way. if Quizo is really dead may his soul rest in perfect peace. If he is alive please SPEAK OUT. Such a nice piece of software

You must be new to the interwebs then. I have seen numerous (popular) software projects abandoned without any explanation from night to day. Of course in a scenario like this, we can all expect the worst unfortunately.
