I am a user not a developer. I wish to complain about the difficulties I have had trying to download, install and understand QTTabBar on my two Windows 7 machines - difficulties which you could easily have helped me avoid with some guidance during the process. First, I had to find out by searching the internet that one must change an Internet Options setting in IE to permit "third party extensions". First of all, I seldom even use IE, preferring Chrome. Second QTTabBar is not an extension to the browser, even if I was using it, so what is that even about? And third your "user manual was obviously written by the programmers without any input from a casual first time user. Doing anything becomes a trial-and-error process. But I did finally get some of it working on my Win 7-64 machine.
Then I tried to install it on my Win 7-32 laptop with the identical suite of programs. I may have made a mistake in trying to download it in IE instead of Chrome because when I tried to run the .exe, I was told that the download was being blocked by the Win7 Firewall. I tried to figure out what to tell the firewall to "allow" but nothing in the list seemed to relate to QTTabBar. So I shut down the Firewall and tried again which resulted in my Avast Anti-Virus blocking some program. With that problem sand-boxed, I tried to continue and got an install failure, again. I am stuck and I quit! These can't be new problems. I'm sure many others have had the same experiences. If you can't make your install process a little more foolproof, why don't you guys at least supply the answers to how we might fix these problems.
QTTabBar may be a great program, but it's not worth the pain.
