When I open a new folder it should appear as a new separated window and not as a new tab. How can I do?
I agree with this. I want the choice to use tabs, but I don't want to be forced to use them all the time. I came here looking for a solution to this problem, but there doesn't seem to be one, so I will probably be uninstalling the program.
You complain to much.
To opens the selected folder in a new window:
- ctrl + enter
- mouse wheel click on a folder
…
You think too little. Feedback is the purpose of the forum. If nobody "complains", the author won't know what features people want/need.
If I assign middle click to open a new window, then I can't use it for opening new tabs, which defeats the purpose of the program. Having to reach for the keyboard is a hassle, because I almost always want folders to open in their own window.
The benefit of tabs would be to organize sets of folders for a particular project into one window. For casual hard drive browsing, I want unrelated things in separate windows.
The solution is simple: honor the OS setting for opening folders in one or multiple windows. The tab functionality should be an added convenience, not a hindrance to normal operations.
I certainly do not mean to sound ungrateful for this program. I think it's great that somebody made something like this, but as it stands, I can't use it the way it is now.
have you tried these options:
uncheck "capture new windows processes"
check "do not capture window as a new tab when opened from outside"
or use the "new window" button of the qttab standard buttons bar
