Search bar disappears when QTabbar is unchecked

Search bar disappears when QTabbar is unchecked

Hi!
I only want to use the search bar but nothing else.
The problem is that QTTabbar needs to be checked (in explorer's context menu) in order to use the search bar.
When I uncheck it, the search bar is still there but only as long as the window stays open. When I close and reopen the window (or just open another window) the search bar disappears.
