Hi. I highly recommend this Addon for Windows XP/Vista.
I have been using XP for several years, and plan on using it for years longer, not upgrading to Vista. I think most people are much better off upgrading their XP system with the unlimited number of freeware apps that are supported - best of all apps like QTTabBar.
I've just installed QTTabBar a few days ago, I usually have 5+ folders open at a time, and thought "This would be easier if Explorer had tabs.". Google search returned this software. Why is it the best…? It is lightweight, low on resources, quickly enable/disable… and best of all - it is an EXPLORER.EXE addon, not a replacement. This program does exactly what I need, and I favor it over XPlorer2, because I believe the performance of Windows core components are more stable than a freeware app that some guy scripted (same reason I don't use WindowsBlinds). Better to use EXPLORER.EXE and the QTTabBar addon, than a novice programmer's ground up replacement approach. QTTabBar adds the one thing EXPLORER lacks - TABS, and its so good you'd think it came OEM with Windows XP.
I haven't even gotten to see all the plugins built for QTTabBar yet, but I'm going there now to check them out.
Btw. I had a problem installing it at first… "System.EnterpriseServices" failed. All I had to do was repair Microsoft dotNET Framework 2.0, repair only, click on the dotNET Framework installation program, and choose "Repair"… the problem was by dotNET Framework was not installed correctly.
