LedAstray thanks alot i was wroking on this thing for nearly an hour. i'm glad you told me how to install plugins. and that blank page did drive me batty. all i wanted was an up button. i wish i could migrate it up to the level next to the addressbar and reload button. but i see so many options in QTTabbar that i'll have to read through it later.i wish i could just show that without the tabs too but we dont live in a perfect world. later guys.

Hello,
After reading this thread and having the same problems, I have figured out how to get all plugins and their icons to work properly. As several have said, start with only one plugin, select the icons to add to the toolbar and I close explorer. Then, re-open explorer and add another plugin, then add the icons you wish to the toolbar. And so on. I have done this with QTFileTools, FolderTreeButton and QTViewModeButton. In that order. I hope it works for you, also.

If you're having trouble finding the Customize option, it ONLY appears when you right click on the buttons.
In other words right clicking in the space next to the buttons won't show the Customize option.

I had trouble finding this.

Thanks for QTTabBar, it's amazing!

Thanks to ledastray and Anonymous for helping me get this thing up and running! But I'm still having a small problem: every time I open a window the new commands (Cut, Paste, etc.) are ghosted and I have to go into Options and click "Apply" for them to become active. How can I get them to stay on for all windows?

Thanks!

Right click on the qttabbar toolbar and choose Customize..
ie right click on the Groups, Recently Closed, Applications, etc buttons.
You can then move the Cut, Copy, Paste etc buttons from the left side (hidden) to the right side (shown)

You may have to right click the windows explorer menu File, Edit, View etc and select QT Tab Standard buttons first.

I amazed by your mentality Nighted. You're supposed to be helping other people in this forum, not judging and critizing them so get stuffed.

For everyone else who is reading this, I managed to figure it out after spending 3 hours working on it and reading through the forums. And it is Quizo's problem. Not having instructions on a plugin for a software you developed is ok? Having a link on your software's website on "How to activate plugins: see Documents" and then going to "Documents" and finding the section you want is blank, is ok? Are you kidding me or what? After all that aggravation, forget about a donation.

Maybe it's just you. Most other people have no problem figuring it out.

It's free software that Quizo spends a lot of time trying to make better. Again, it's free. Just as you have a choice to give Quizo some money for it, you also have a choice to not use it. If it doesn't work, oh well…not really Quizo's problem.

I'm amazed at the mentality of some of the posts.

I wasted over an hour trying to get the FileTools Plugins Pack to work and the QTFileTools txt. file has no instructions, just a lot of gobbledygook. In the plugins section it says "How to activate plugins: see Documents". I went to documents and the Plugins section was blank. Stupid.

Then I found a thread by Annonymous who said: "Where do you put the plugins .dll? I can't believe you provide a .dll and no instructions on where to install it. Where the heck does it go? OK, I have figured it out, but most might not. Install instructions should be placed in the .txt file that comes with the .dll.

How to install:

Step 1:
Extract the file to a folder and place in the programs file directory. Open windows explorer and right click on the button bar and select options. Select the plugins tab and click the "+" to the right to add the location of the downloaded plugins and then click ok.

Step 2:
Right click on the button bar and select customize and choose which button(s) to add and close."

The problem is No buttons appear after I install QTTabBar. And when I right click on the button bar, there is nothing saying "Options".

All I want are buttons in my Vista Explorer!

Annonymous is right. Instructions should be placed in the Documents section and the .txt file. It's not right to do this to people. We're not mind readers you know!
