I think single buttons is a good idea. I also think there is a need. I still use Styler because it's a lot easier to click the view you want. Menus of any kind, context or sliders, are not as intuitive.

Oh, sorry, I have not completely understood what you mean
AFAIK, there are no such buttons, and I do not think there is a need for such

I use the View Mode Button plugin, and it's not that difficult to click the mouse button one more time

unless i am missing something or my pc is playing up, i already have the button - that's all i get from the customise - when i click on it a menu pops up and i select the view type (details, icons etc)

what i'm thinking instead is the view icons themselves along the toolbar

And that's exactly what the plugin does

You should manually add it's button to the Standard Buttons
Right Click on QTTabBar's Standard Buttons, and choose Customize…

first Thanks to Quizo for this great windows enhancement, i am throwing this request here hoping it's the right place..

what i find useful is to have a button for each of the modeviews, that way i just click once instead of having to use sliders or menus
just to change the views.

just two would already be fantastic: details and thumbnails..
Max
