I spent a long time on this same error and just when I was ready to give up I fixed it and installed. It was anti-virus. As soon as I disable Panda anti-virus it installed just fine.
I am still working on getting it to be tabbed though.

is the problem forsaken? I have same problem but don't want to waste time if it is not fixed and problem posted for months not. I find not updated links to new version with the fix

I just found this program but unfortunately I can't install it either.

My error log:

not sure what do do as "run as" instructions?

I have no anti-virus software.

I supposed that it'd dump the registry key name where access denied :-(

"Run as…" fails also?
antivirus software is installed on your machines?
Didn't you try to install from network, not local drive?

Same error message and yes I do have read/write permissions to those registry keys…

It's stange that administrators fail writing registry keys …

in new 1.2.1.3, fixed not to access some kind of registry keys while installing process.
and it dumps more more detailed log.

if still fails, please check these registry keys and make sure you have read/write right.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

I also have this problem, but the interesting thing is, that the program works fine although!

Just check if you can enable the tool, though the installation failed!

This is Windows XP, SP2 and I'm the administrator (there is even just one account)

sorry I'm late.
It seems that installer fails to register dlls to the registry for some reason…

new installer dumps more detailed error log to desktop,
so please try it and post log here.
Download
The log file name will be "QTTabBarInstall.log".

When trying to install I get the error message "Standard error output is not empty".

What is this? and how may I correct it?
