Is there a way to hide the breadcrumb bar in IE8 where it occupies a whole row without any function? If I disable it in IE, it will not work in windows explorer. (Using WinXP SP3)

Wow this is a great toolbar plug-in ….. thanks :D

I am only using the QTtabBar and I found a nice skin and set up a group to load with explorer all works great on x64 vista.

So, the thing is the names on my tabs in the group are all underlined and it just spoils the look of the tabs.

Is there a way, that I'm missing, to remove the underlined tab titles in a group that anyone knows of ?

This toolbar plug-in saves me so much time I might even consider another hobby of some sort :D

I've a real user problem: (maybe, I dont understand all functions)

I use the tabs, an now I klick on one, than the tab opens. in the tab there are more folders. so I klick further. Than I change tab to another one for looking for something. Than i klick on the old tab and the content is different. It's the original content, not the last one.

How can I fix it?

I want, that changing folders in a tab will be saved until the tab is closed. Like the tabs by mozilla or equal browsers. Is this possible?
Is it possible to drag and drop folders in the tabbar?

ok, by doing some more googling, I finally found a solution: delete the file "c:\windows\explorer.exe.config" and everything works fine!

I have the exact same problem, on the exact same computer (Asus EEE PC 1000H). However, it's not only QTTabBar that doesn't work: no non-default toolbar appears to works. The strange thing is that I *can* enable them in Internet Explorer, just not in Explorer.

same with me, I'm using an Eee PC and the installation works, but when i want to enable the toolbar in the explorer it isn't displayed. I can't activate it. What's the problem? On my other notebook it works with no problems. I think it's not just a problem with QtTabBar, it is also the same with other tab bars, for example the AVG AntiVirus toolbar, i can't activate it as well.
Any ideas?

Hi together,

I have same problems as sandygrl.
With my both regular PCs (XP Pro + SP3 + NetFramework 3.5) QTTabbar works well, but on my ASUS 1000H Subnotebook (XP Home + SP3 + NetFramework 3.5 incl. all actual Bugfixes and Patches from MS) QTTabbar and QTAdressbar wont work.
Althouht the Entries in the Symbolbar-selection appears in black (IE settings for Addons and ThirdParties Modules are enabled), I can't make an sign left of them.
I tried four times to reinstall the complete WinXP Home, but unfortunately without having function in QTTabbar each time.
Dear programmer, please help - your Addon is best I ever seen. Specialy for using just a touchpad QTTabbar is nessesary for becoming a useful PC.

I'm using QTTabBar for a long time without problems. I have now bought a laptop and I have installed QTTabBar (I have Windows XP home SP 3 and Net.framework 2.0) but I don't succeed in using it. In fact after the installation I have restart but nothing happened.
When I go to View-tooolbar I can view the option QTTabBAR and QTTabBar buttons but whe I clic them nothing happens. I have succeeded in making to appear the tabs in Internet Explorer but not in the normal window.

What can I do?

I have a question: Is there an option to open new tabs in background? I know this possibility from Mozilla Firefox. If I open an URL in a new tab in firefox, it's opened in the background and the tab which was opened stays in front.

Another problem, this time it has to do with tabs. When I move a file from one to the next, a dropdown listing all the files appear if I hover on the recipient tab for too long. It can be a real lag, especially if there's thousands of files there, which I'm working with currently. I hope for an effective solution to this, if possible. Will be gladly appreciated.

I'm brand new to both QTTabBar (beta2) and AddressBar, and having installed both at once before restart, am not entirely clear about the difference between the two. In any case, when I click on the right arrow next to the folder name in the toolbar (right), there's a drop down of folders within it. Is there a setting to adjust the height of that drop down so that it goes down more than half screen?

When the QTTabBar is on, and if you double-click on an empty space in explorer, you move back one level right? Well, I want that off, it is annoying especially if you accidentally double-clicked somewhere other than the menu and file/folder. Is that possible? It is rather useless anyways, because you can just move back one level by double-clicking the tab, clicking the symbol, or using the Explorer Breadcrumbs. I'm using Windows XP by the way.

Hi! I just had the same problem you had, but I found a way to simply reactivate them. I went to my Internet Explorer (I'm using IE7), when to the Tools Menu, then selected the Manage Add-Ons. In there, you can see that QT Tab Bar is disabled, so all you have to do is simply enable it! There! As simple as that!

You can create your own groups. To do open up the options panel then click groups then click the plus sign beside the tab called Start Up. Give the new group a name. Now click the plus sign again to start adding your choice of files, folders and drives. Even though doing it this way doesn't seem quite right, it works for me. Hope it works for you!

I was trying to create a group of tabs with all my drives and partitions but it appears that we are limited to the pre-defined choices in the drop down box. Is that correct or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help.

Same error here for a localized version of XP when adding places in groups from the bottom + sign, also found an workaround: create a "NewGroup" from the upper + sign and then add what you want in the new group and also rename it as you wish.

I am trying to figure out why my tab bars (including QT) are being greyed out in Vista. When I right click on the menu bar, all I see are a few options that are grey and they cannot be clicked. The last item in the menu is "Lock the toolbars," but that is unchecked. I cannot enable anything on this tab bar.

I am very concerned and I am open to all suggestions. I really want to be able to fix this and get on with using Qt bar again. Can anyone think of a reason for this weird issue? Or give me a guidance as to what to do? Please let me know!

I just installed it, and it works in vista and I have sp1 installed, didn't installed the first time because of a program I use "Webroot Spy sweeper" and blocked the install but after allowing qttabbar it works !!

I still have to figure out how to install the plugins….??

qttabbar will not work under vista sp1. I cannot get any tabs to work. I have the latest release. I'm going to have to uninstall and go with directory opus. It's a bit expensive, but it works. This free stuff never works as things get updated. The authors get the "glory" when they first write the software, but after the initial distribution,, they disappear and the software does not work.

It was a great tool before sp1. unfortunately i have to get rid of it. i installed qttabar AFTER the sp1 update. I had uninstalled the previous version before putting on sp1.

It was good while it lasted, but sadly, like all free software, it has become totally obsolete with current operating systems.

hi you all.

I have a question..

before I was using QTTabBar I been able to push the "back" button on the windows explorer in order to go back to the previous page as well when I push the button on my mouse.
for example (just so you will understand my meaning)

I was in the folder:
C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7
I press the "back" button
and I go back to
C:\Program Files\Nero
now if I press the button (on windows wxplorer or the mouse) I go to
C:\Program Files
how can I disable QTTabBar in that metter. I don't need is assistance in the "back" command.

You have to right-click the actual toolbar. Dead simple but took me ages to find out.
These options should really be moved to the actual QTTabBar options dialog.
