In qttabbar options menu, select "Tabs&Windows(2). 4th item in the menu is "when window x button clicked". There are 3 options: 1) close window 2)close tab 3) send to task tray. There is a bug: option 1) and option 2) are reversed. Workaround: simply select "close tab" if you want the window x button to close the window.

1.When I double-clicked any folders ,the tab turned to Destop.And When I double-clicked the folders on the Desktop ,it responsed noting.

Hi. i recently downloaded QTTabbar ver. 2.0.0.0b2, but I uninstalled it immediately after its first run because of these bugs:

1) I cannot drag a folder on the tab row so it will become a new tab. This used to work in older versions.
2) When I try to open a folder by double-clicking it, the folder that opens instead is the up one level folder or "parent" folder.
3)I re-installed QTTabBar, this time when I double-click on a folder, it opens in new window instead.
4) The Options button doesn't work. But when I choose "Options" in right click menu, it works.
5) When I select a folder and click on "Open in Tab", it doesn't work. When I right click a folder and choose "Open in Tab" it doesn't work too.

Those are the problems I encountered with the new version. For now, I'm sticking with the older version.

Issues with windows 7 version - getting error for symbolic link folders

I have downloaded the windows 7 executable.

I also use symbolic links in windows using hard link extension and junction. Those folders which are created using symbolic links are accessible but if you open another tab and come back it says not able to open

Hi, Quizo. Good to see you are back. I have QTTabbar 2.0.0.0 beta2 in win 7 32bit sp1, ie9 (qttabbar enabled in addons).
1) I do Not get the blue arrow nor the preview for images,txt etc., in explorer, but able to see it on the desktop when i enable desktop tool in taskbar.
2) Sometimes explorer.exe crashes with ntdll.dll, when i use selection tool plugin and select all the options (folder size, attributes, etc.).
3) (same as reported above) Double click on folder view margin does not go up one level instead is showing options window.
4) (same as reported above) When explorer window is closed ('X' button) only the active tab closes.
5) (i don't know if this a bug or a feature request) When i hide desktop icons (by clicking desktop menu > View > Show desktop icons), the blue menu of groups, tabs, etc (which appears when i double click when desktop icons are visible) does not show.

I know it's beta still and some bugs will be present. Really happy to see the blue tip arrow on desktop again.

Please consider merging with the fork of QTTabbar in sourceforge (by Shining Masamune).

Hi, Quizo, I test the newest version 2.0 beta2 in Windows 7 32bit, there are some bugs in the newest version. First, the double click on blank margin to go to up level is useless; Second, when windows “X” clicked, the tab on the right closed, btw, I have checked the option "Close Window".

I'm from Moscow. I'm using XP + SP3 and with all new version of QTTabs the same problem

I mean, "search bar" always shrinked within next few days after installing of the any new last 2 versions of the QTTabs.

If I using old version 1.2.2.1 - everything is OK! No shrinking….

I keep it in my minds more than 1 year ago. So, that is the reason why I'm using old version.

when windowblinds 6 is loaded, the tooltip on the preview becomes broken as shown below, hoping this will be fixed, thanks…

As with the last two posts, my tab is blank and my toolbar buttons are invisible until I do something that refreshes them (such as disabling then enabling the QTTabBar). I also can cause QTTabBar to crash by trying to clone the tab that is blank (it clones fine once I refresh the tabs and see the tab labels).

I do not, however, have any problems with the taskbar or any other part of the system so far.

Thanks for the great software ~ QTToolbar. I love it.
But upon installing I find that the "Back" function (by means of the back button or backspace) does not work anymore. It would be great if the release could fix it.

When I choose Show/Hide Memo and it is showing, with something defined for the folder's text, Memo fails to hide. Also, is it a bug that Memo is always on top? A window that's always in your way seems - obtrusive.

QT TabBar 1.2.3 b5 @ Windows 7 7232 x64:
After installing and not changing options, pressing alt twice (to show and hide the menubar) crashes explorer.
If you use the option to hide the menu bar, closing and opening a new windows shows the menu bar again.
The tab also remains empty, and when cloning the tab the following error pops up twice before closing the Explorer window:

..same problem with QTTabBar v1.2.3b5!! Quizo.. congratulations for your program but please try to fix this annoying bug!!
Many people use yours tabs for skinning Windows Explorer like Vista one's.. and it's hard to renounce with programs (such YzToolbar) to skin explorer buttons icons..

Having same problems as others described while testing both stable and beta builds of QTTabBar in Windows 7 RC build 7100. It still works perfectly for me in XP SP3 and Vista SP2, you're awesome!

QT Breadcrumbs Address Bar bug (limitation):
Can't navigate to C$ etc. on network computer. Nothing happens when I type the address in except a Windows error beep.

Error with directories that I don't have read permission! Because it opens subdirectories on mous-eover, and windows will show an error message stating that I don't have permission when it does this. Can you add a check for read permission, or change to mouse-click instead of mouse-over.

QTAddressBar bug:

On the Address Bar, clicking the small arrows opens a drop down list of the folders. It seems that QTAddressBar does not properly sort the list in any obvious manner if the folder contains different items other than folders (example My Computer). The drop down menu items are not sorted alphabetically nor by group.

How is the list sorted? Maybe an option to fix it to alphabetize or group (folders, drives, etc. ) instead of what seems to be random listing.

Hi, besides the first bug I posted, here's more:

1. Also, on right click, the option to open a new tab is not listed. Much guess work is needed to get a new tab opened. I guessed ctrl+n is that correct? Or is there a more proper way to create tabs?

2. The close button on tabs overlaps with the tab title if it is long enough. Example, the tab label My Computer overlaps with the [X] button. Maybe concatenate the text when the close button is present? Like on mouseover or with alt key down depending on user choice in the options it would appear like:

My Com… [X]

instead of overlapping with one another.

3. The backspace button in explorer by default behavior goes back to the previous folder. With QTTabBar installed, the backspace button now goes straight to home i.e. My Computer. The user of course expects it to go to the previous folder since it is the default behavior. Maybe a different hotkey should be assigned to go to the folder home instead of backspace.

In the options menu, changing the double click background from show options to open a new tab, double clicking the background of qttabbar does not create a new tab.

Win 7, x64 RC 7100 here. Same problem. QTTabBar 1.2.3b4, I see Rowe (2 posts up) has the same problem with b5.
The toolbar positions also reset each time.

I forgot how much I hate the way the backspace key works. "No, go UP dammit!"

Hello Quizo.

I installed the latest version on a Windows XP OS. The installation seems to have gone smoothly. However, there is a problem. I cannot enable the standard buttons or the address bar from the Windows Explorer. When I right click on any of those, and actually most of the other toolbars in the right click menu, nothing happens — the only exceptions to this are Standard Buttons and Address Bar. On the other hand, I can right click and enable the QT Tab Bar toolbars on Internet Explorer.

To get to the bottom of this, I ran the sysinternals program to figure out the running processes, and this is what I saw in the Internet Explorer tab:

…so I looked for these QT registry entries in the tab for Explorer, but couldn't find them. Maybe that's the problem? I dunno….

Can you help?

Sorry for offtopic, in some way.

I've installed your AddressBar on clean Windows (already installed + .net, of course). But after I installed Office 2007, your AddressBar disappeared and entry in context menu became disabled so I can't turn it on.

Is there way to try uninstall to reinstall QTAddressBar? I didn't find it in Installed Programs list ): .

Or this is known issue?

I'll be glad to get answer on my email.
